I am an internationally working hair and makeup artist, as well as the founder and owner of the Nuvo salon. My career has taken me to fashion weeks around the world, editorial productions, and collaborations with numerous international brands, designers, and public figures — from Scandinavia to Europe, North America, Asia, and all the way to the Middle East.
At the heart of Nuvo lies a commitment to uncompromising quality, individuality, and aesthetic confidence. My goal is to oRer clients a holistic experience where technical excellence, the vision, and personal consultation come alive together. Every creation is rooted in the client’s personality, lifestyle, and wishes — the result is always considered, bespoke, and timeless.

Educating and training myself is a source of inspiration for me along with my colleagues, fashion and people I get to meet. I love creative techniques and styles. I constantly follow what happens in the global hair industry, participating in different online courses to make sure my craft is amongst the newest trends at all times.

I remember being in make up school more than a decade ago and my teacher, one of Finland’s most experienced make up artists Tuija Luukkainen said:
”Miia, those red lips are the best that you have ever done”. Since that I’ve been pursuing to develop my own definition of a perfect look, recognizable yet fresh and classical.
When I work with make up my approach is simple: It should follow minimal principles to let inner beauty radiate from underneath the skin. One of my most important values is to follow and promote clean and ecological skin care and make up products. My make-up career stems from my time as a successful teenage gymnast. Practice makes perfect and I can guarantee my years of practice will make your face look stunning.
I’ve been happy to work with many superb customers and artists such as John Blackwell and Cassandra O’Neal (the drummer and the keyboard player of Prince), Ismo Alanko and Astrid Swan to name a few. During my educational years in Stockholm I created make up for Benjamin Ingrosso, Felix Sandman and for several Swedish olympic athletes in a cooperation with the sports brand New Balance.
Whether you need your make up done for a wedding, fashion shoot, music video or just having a night out on the town I’ll make it work!
